Dr. Siqi Wei is an Assistant Professor of Finance at David Nazarian College of Business and Economics, California State University - Northridge (CSUN). In CSUN, Dr. Wei also serves as the Associate Director of the Center for Asian Finance and Business Research (CAFBR). His primary research interests include institutional investors, market efficiency, capital markets, labor finance, and emerging financial technologies. His research has been presented at international and regional conferences such as FMA, SWFA, SFA, etc. His work is featured in media outlets such as Bloomberg and Columbia Law School's Blog on Corporations and the Capital Markets. His research has been published in the Journal of Corporate Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, Finance Research Letters, among others.

 

Professor Wei received his Ph.D. in Finance from Oklahoma State University. He also holds an MS degree in Finance from Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. He is currently teaching Financial Modeling in Python (FIN-459) and MBA Quantitative Finance (FIN-639). These courses are jointly designed to provide a rigorous introduction necessary for subsequent work in all areas of finance. Particular emphasis is placed upon asset valuation, capital budgeting, financial markets, and necessary applied financial modeling essentials.  Prior to joining CSUN, Dr. Wei also instructed Financial Modeling (FIN4333) and Applied Research Practicum (FIN6000) at Oklahoma State University. He truly loves teaching and cares about his students. He is seeking to create a positive learning environment and provide practical implications for Finance. He has been granted the 2017 Distinguished Teaching Award and 2018 University Distinguished Fellowship Award for his teaching achievements.

 

Before Dr. Wei joined California State University Northridge, he also served as a risk management specialist in the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China-US in New York City.
